The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) released the completed specification for 3D on Blu-ray Disc on December 17th.
The specification includes full 1080p resolution and backward compatibility for 3D players and 3D Blu-ray Discs - this means that the standard Blu-ray Disc titles will play in new 3D players, and new 3D discs will play in current players. Encoding will be in a new MVC codec - an extension to the existing AVC codec.
We expect much more news on "3D to the home" in early January when the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
